Here is our guide to using the conference call feature…
Starting a Conference Call
To start a conference you must be connected to the first party on the telephone by either having called them or answered a call from them.
- If you are not already connected, make a call to the first person.
- Press the CONF soft key
- The first call will automatically be put on hold
- Dial the number of the next person you want to join the call
- When connected and they agree to join the conference, press the CONF soft key again
- If the second party does not want to join the conference call, press DROP and then the appearance key of the call already on hold
Add a Call to a Conference
Additional parties can be added to a conference call as follows…
- Press HOLD to put the conference call on hold (other parties will not be affected – they can continue to talk to each other)
- Press a free appearance key on which you can make a call
- Dial the number of the person you want to add to your conference
- If they answer and are happy to join your conference, press the CONF soft key
- If they are not available or do not wish to join the conference, press DROP and then the appearance key of the held call to continue your conference with your existing colleagues
Viewing Conference Details
A list of the parties involved in your existing conference call can be viewed as follows:
- If your conference call is not already displayed on your screen, use the up and down arrows to scroll to it
- Press the DETAILS soft key:
- Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list of callers
- To drop a caller from the conference, highlight their name and press DROP
- To mute a caller, highlight them and press MUTE – press MUTE again to unmute them
- Press BACK to go back to the call display
Dropping / Muting Callers
Parties (and yourself) can be dropped from a conference call as follows…
- Press the DETAILS key to display the conference details menu
- Choose your required action from the following options:
- Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list of callers
- To drop a caller from the conference, highlight their name and press DROP
- To mute a caller, highlight them and press MUTE – press MUTE again to unmute them
- Press BACK to go back to the call display
Holding a Conference Call
A conference call can be put on hold the same way a normal telephone call can be put on hold.
- Press the HOLD soft key and the appearance key for the call will show a fast-flashing red light.
- Press the call appearance key to take the conference call off of hold
